Empower Physical Therapy is a proud clinical partner of Kineon, offering Move+ red light therapy as part of our comprehensive treatment approach.

Move+ therapy is used in conjunction with physical therapy to support pain management, tissue recovery, and functional improvement.

Move+ at a Glance

  • Technology: Wearable red and near-infrared light therapy device
  • Focus: Targeted support for joints and soft tissue
  • Goals: Reduce pain, support recovery, improve mobility

How Move+ Red Light Therapy Works

The Kineon Move+ uses a process called photobiomodulation (PBM)
— sometimes referred to as low-level light therapy. PBM involves exposing tissues to specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to influence cellular and physiological processes.

  • Cellular energy (ATP) support: Red and NIR light interact with structures in the mitochondria, which can enhance the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) — the cell’s energy currency. Better energy availability may help cells perform repair and recovery functions more efficiently.
  • Inflammation modulation: PBM has been shown in research to influence inflammatory pathways, which may help calm irritated tissues and reduce discomfort around joints and soft tissues.
  • Improved circulation: Light exposure can support local blood flow, helping bring oxygen and nutrients to the area while assisting the removal of metabolic byproducts associated with soreness.
  • Tissue repair support: By supporting cell signaling and collagen production, PBM may contribute to the body’s natural tissue healing processes over time.

During a session, the Move+ is positioned comfortably around the target joint. A typical treatment is brief and non-invasive, and most people experience only a gentle warmth in the treated area.

What Is the Kineon Move+ Device?

Kineon Move+ device in use

The Kineon Move+ is a wearable, targeted red light therapy device designed to deliver photobiomodulation (PBM) directly to specific joints and soft tissue areas. Unlike broad-panel devices, the Move+ uses a flexible, form-fitting design that positions medical-grade laser diodes directly against the skin for precise, localized treatment.

Using medical-grade dual-wavelength laser diodes — 660nm red light and 808nm near-infrared — the Move+ delivers therapeutic light energy directly to the target tissue. This energy is absorbed at the cellular level, where it supports mitochondrial function, promotes circulation, and may help reduce local inflammation.

At Empower Physical Therapy, our team makes Move+ therapy part of a broader, individualized treatment plan. Sessions are conducted in-clinic under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist who monitors your response and adjusts your overall program accordingly.
